Here are a few tips of what to wear and what to avoid! Keep in mind I also shoot the details, like hands and feet, so be prepared to show your best side… and your best shoes!
-Coordinate your colors to compliment each other
-Avoid crazy patterns and big lettering
- Avoid wearing white
-Color is your friend!
- Ladies… avoid tube tops, as they make you appear broader than you really are.
-If you wear make-up, be sure it is covered evenly and matches your skin tone. Makeup tends to fade in images, so kick it up a notch without overdoing it! A little more blush and eyeshadow (than daily wear) brings attention to your eyes and cheekbones. And don’t forget those eyelashes!
- Avoid anything too tight, especially if you don’t want to show every curve and ripple!
-Be comfortable, When you dress comfortable, you will feel comfortable, and you will look comfortable! That’s a lot of comfort for one sentence…
-If the weather permits, dress in layers. Collared shirts under sweaters, fitted jackets over lacy tanks.
Brings props… If you love to skateboard.. BRING IT. If you play the guitar, let’s use it! If your child has a favorite stuffed toy, by all means include it. Heck… You can even bring your favorite chair if you really want to!
For Engagement sessions, bring a variety; casual, cocktail, laid back, and fun!
Engagement sessions usually have several locations, so try to correlate your outfits for the locations. But it is also very cool to wear your little black dress to places you normally wouldn’t wear it. Especially if you want to stand out in your images!
Try to choose locations that reflect your personality and places that are important to you as a couple. Make a list, and we’ll discuss what places will work best for your session.
For many sessions I shoot your hands, feet, shoes, etc. So if we are going to show off your fabulous new rock, make sure your fingernails look great too.
We can discuss more in depth depending on your session type and location. Contact me to book your session today!
