When I was in Arizona last weekend I did a quick session with Katie. I wish I would have had more time, becuase she is sooo cute and has the most amazing brown eyes. Here is a quick sneak peek!

Hi, I'm Jamie, of Burnett Photography. I'm a portrait and wedding photographer in Auburn, Alabama and Phoenix, Arizona. This crazy little page is my blog where I'll share images from portrait sessions, weddings and the occasional random post that I wanted to share.
I can't say I'm a traditional photographer, actually I'm anything but a traditional photographer. I love unique angles, bright colors, funny faces and touching moments. I do take the time to create some classic posed images, but I also encourage & suggest some out of the ordinary moments as well.
Over the past several years of this business journey, I have come to realize that not everyone wants their picture taken.... So that means I have to have some pretty creative ways to get those certain family members to open up and enjoy the experience. I can't give away my secrets, but don't be surprised if you actually have fun while being photographed. Your inner supermodel may even step out to work it for the camera!
You can visit the website by the links above or select from posted categories. Surf around have fun and please contact me about session availability and investment. I offer limited sessions in Alabama and Arizona. For the best availability and travel schedule, please contact us. Bookmark this page, come back often and leave comments... I love reading them!

I met Kim for the first time on the day of her Senior portrait session, and she is incredibly gorgeous! She is a complete natural in front of the camera and literally could not have taken a bad picture, which makes my job oh so easy! Kim is also one of the fittest high school students that I have EVER met! I’m definitely not kidding when I say she made my job easy! Here’s a few of my favorites… Thanks Kim!

This was the first year both of my boys wanted to be something scary or cool. In the all the years before at least one of them was something fuzzy or had a tail… But alas they are growing up! The days of freckles made with eyeliner have now been replaced with fake blood and plastic masks. :( But I can at least enjoy the loot they bring home!
Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
Here’s a point and shoot of the boys and their candy candy haul!

Trisha and Dan are one of those couples that you love to hang out with. They are fun, romantic, silly, and totally in love. I was so excited when they chose me to shoot their wedding and engagement session. We shot their Engagement session in Phoenix, Arizona, and there wedding will be in Sedona, AZ! I can’t wait for their big day!
When we talked about their engagement session, we wanted to incorporate all the things that they do together and tell the story of Dan & Trisha. So we started in the bedroom…

I ABSOLUTELY had to include this sign that Trisha’s Dad left on the bedroom door… Apparently there are no camels (especially ones with humps) allowed in the bedroom until after the wedding day! HA!

This is their baby!

Yes, They are a great looking couple!

Dan is a triathlete, so his bike made a special appearance…

Did I mention they LOVE Starbucks…

I told you they were fun!

This past weekend I packed my bags and headed back to Arizona for some very special sessions. Despite the flight delays and the hassle of traveling in general, Arizona is the place to be. The weather is always great and my clients are possibly some of the most amazing people you will ever meet. Which brings me to the Chamberlain family. They are SOOO much fun and possibly the nicest and most generous families I have ever met. On to some pictures…

I actually forced them to take a “couples” shot. They just didn’t realize it’s because I was planning to slip it over the old one where they have 80’s hair! Then after I thought about it, I realized that the 80’s hair shows that these two have been together for a LONG time and that is an achievement in itself. So we’ll leave the 80’s hair picture not only because it gives me a big smile (and a small giggle), but it also reminds me that these guys have been in love FOREVER!!!

Can you guess who was done with my camera??? I think this is a toddler protest.

Someone is a Daddy’s girl!

I’m back in Arizona shooting a few sessions this weekend, and I took a quick break to edit a couple to post on the blog…
Here’s a sneak peak of Kim’s senior pictures…

And here’s a quick one from The Chamberlain’s family session. Can you guess who didn’t want to participate today???

A couple more sessions today, more to come in a few days!

I met Graham and Stacy in Columbus, GA this week and I have to say they are an amazing couple. They are expecting their first baby on December 14th, the same day as my youngest sons birthday. They have an amazing connection and I have no doubt they will make amazing parents.
I have a ton of images from their session, and I can’t post some of my favorites due to the fact that I try to keep the blog somewhat family friendly, and their session was very intimate. But I do have some favorites that I can share…

This is one of favorite of them together… If it’s a boy or a girl, he/she will be gorgeous, just look at the parents!

Last weekend I headed to Birmingham to hang out with some great photographers and shoot a super cute family. The Nolens are also photographers, but were behind the camera this time.

Here’s Daddy making faces to get Grayben to laugh… I’m laughing, and I’m not even a baby! :) Sorry guys, I couldn’t resist!

Here’s a behind the scenes shot, talk about paparazzi!

Mommy’s sweet baby boy…

Thanks to Amelia, Emily, Camille, the Nolens, and everyone else at the worshop. It was fun!
I headed to Birmingham yesterday to shoot with some fun photographers and was able to shoot Matt and Abby. They were married one year ago and are celebrating their anniversary and Matt passing the bar exam. Whooo hoooo… Congratulations on two amazing milestones. They braved the rain with us even had fun, cause you know, photographers are not only talented, but we’re also tons of fun! Here’s the smokin’ hot Matt & Abby…

The Church where they said their vows…

Here comes the rain…

I love that moment right before the kiss…

How cute is she???

A nice thing about living in Auburn, Alabama is that the beach is only a three hour drive away. We took full advantage of the sunny forecast and headed to Panama City Beach in Florida. Luckily we have family that is also within driving distance so we all spent the day hanging out on the beach. I left my camera behind since I know what the sand does to my cel phone, but my brother in law braved the sand and salt water and let me play with his Nikon. I should also mention he brought along his cornhole game that I have only played twice but managed to get 2, yes count em’, 2 bags in the hole!!!! That’s a first for me, and yes, I’m not normally picked to be on anyone’s team!
We were also there for the offshore boat race, which is mind blowing to see these boats race. What’s almost as impressive is how they sound.

Here’s the boys hanging out at the beach…

Don’t ask about the neon orange hat… Daddy though it was a great idea so we could spot him easily…LOL! This image could easily be confused for a baywatch rescue scene.

Some friendly cornhole competition…

Score is 5 to 3 in the first round…

I think the sunset wins… Sorry guys! Even though it was a Nikon, I think Mike’s camera did good… I may have to consider a new brand!

what a beautiful girl! great shots… i really like the first one–was looking at it wondering what the background was and then i wondered if it was a little bit of texture maybe? she is lovely.
simple stunning… I love the eye color you were able to obtain. Brown eyes are beautiful but I struggle with trying to get them a lighter brown and less black, great job.
LOVE your work!
she really is a cute girl- beautiful eyes! the first shot is the best.
love the movement in that 3rd image!!
Gorgeous! Love the post-process. Can’t wait to see more!
